It is especially suitable for reef biotopes as it generates an oscilating current. The current corresponds exactly to the wave structure and water movement in reef top zones. I can get a 3 inch wave in my tank using this clever device. I know there's a lot of people who dont like the clutter the box creates inside the tank but i will tell you a secret, you can make the same waves without the plastic box, just running the pump with the 6091 controller you can still make huge waves without the plastic box!
