(06/28/2008) - At last--a T5 actinic! This is the real deal--your greens will glow with that 03 metallic sheen fluorescence, and the tank will be washed with a VIOLET-blue tint. This bulb is not overly blue and low on fluorescence, such as with ATI or UVL's so-called "actinic" bulbs--both of which are much brighter, yes, but also much bluer and not so actinic. This G-mann actinic bulb is dimmer, granted, but the actinic effect is true 03, and that is what these bulbs are for--not for high PAR blue output. For that, you should look into Blue+ type bulbs. If you are a fan of UVL's VHO Super Actinic, this is closest you are going to find in T5's...!

(03/07/2005) - The search for A TRUE actinic T-5 is OVER! this motha is very nice! I can BARELY distinguish this bulb from URI's VHO actinic; if you want that real violet/blue look- that classic VHO "glow" this light is for you! dont be confuse this with other actinic t-5s which are pretty much just blue lamps- your corals WILL GLOW under this light- the greens will jump out- i never knew my rock flower anemone could glow bright green! This bulb is true crafstmenship- there's also ATI's "blue plus" light which people are now enjoying very much b/c it does away with the purple/blue look and captures a more natural "deep" blue- however- your corals wont flouresce "as much" as this baby!
