| | Reef Crystals¨ enriched blend sea salt contains extra levels of calcium, vitamins, and selected trace elements. Developed for use in sophisticated reef aquariums, it was the first enriched sea water formulation available to aquarium hobbyists. The inclusion of important components at concentrations greater than in natural seawater assures extended availability of substances that are assimilated and depleted especially quickly in thriving reef aquariums. A special additive helps to detoxify excess heavy metals, such as copper, that are often found at elevated levels in domestic water supplies. Reef Crystals¨ salt provides superior dissolvability andis compatible with all marine aquariums. We use only the most sophisticated biological and chemical testmethods to develop and refine our formulas, and Reef Crystals¨ sea salt is no exception. Every batch iscarefully analyzed to guarantee composition, consistency, and uniformity. |

4 Happy with my selection

I've been reefing for just about a year and this is the only salt I've used. Mixing at a 1/2 cup / gallon keeps me right at 1.025 - 1.026 (refractometer). Great price too. Most knowledgeable reefkeepers will know that a salt alone will not keep cal, alk and mag levels at ideal amounts, especially if you have a fair amount of corals...(Carlos... I was pleasantly surprised that when I was just starting to hand-dose to get levels up to their ideal positions that my mag was already at 1350. My cal and alk were a little low but it was no problem bringing them up (cal was: 325ish and ALK was: about 5.5 dKH).

Calcium 340, Magnessium 1065, Alkalinity 9.92, very unbalanced salt. Do not buy this salt if you are not going to add some additives.

5 Best Salt ever

This is the best salt you can buy. It is better than Tropic Marin. I switched to Tropic Marin because it is wupposed to be the best. After about 2 months of using tropic marin my LPS started to detach from their skeltons. Must be lacking Strontium. I switched back to Reef Crystals and my corals slowly started to recover. I am not the only one that this has happened to with Tropic Marin.

Hands down the best salt I've ever used. You really can't go wrong with Instant Ocean or Reef Crystals.
