Sapphire Aquatics is proud to present theAP24 protein skimmer. This protein skimmer was specifically designed for the Current Aquapod 24 gallon aquarium. It fits in the right chamber of the rear compartments and requires no modification to the tank or lid. The skimmer uses a total of 6 watts of powerand adds virtualy no heat to the aquarium. The pump mixes water and air at a rate of 178 GPH and air draw is 2LPM. This combination of air and water flow rates allow for the best possible protein extraction and is ideal for hobbyists with well-stocked aquariums. In addition, this new design pushes all of the micro fine airbubbles through a bubble plate inside the skimmers body before entering the reaction chamber to reduce turbulence and increase dwell time. The built in gate valve allows for easy adjustments and fine tuning of the skimmate collection. Once it is set you will not need to adjust it again. We machine the collection cups for a slip fit over the riser tube which allows easy removal of the cup and makes cleaning simple.
