I had to replace my failed Iwaki 30RLT and wanted a change. The Panworld pumps were recommended by PA and took a chance. I installed it last night and its great! It is about a third as loud as my Iwaki was and the tank is running cooler now too. Highly recommended.

I really like these blue line pumps. You can't beat the price/performance ratio. The 50PX is used as my main circ. pump for my 90 gallon reef tank. It really has some power for its size. I must note, however, that if you step up from the 40PX, be prepared for an appreciable step up in noise as well. I wish it could be as quiet as the 40PX, which, in my opinion, is the best pump in the line. I beleive this is due to the 50PX end cap being vented for cooling, which transmits that all too familiar turbine whine. The 40PX and smaller models do not feature this. All pumps of the 50PX size and larger (including Iwaki) have this feature, so you can't avoid it. Overall, a good quality pump that is indeed a workhorse.
