(03/19/2009) - Reasonably quiet. Been running with little maintenance for almost 4 years now. Finished has held up great. Downside cord is a bit short but it does come prewired. Very Very happy with this pump.

(02/21/2006) - Flat out awesome pump. Had a mak-4 running my EV240 and was extremely loud. Switched to this pump and couln't be happier. Very quiet and still great performance. Great Buy!

(01/11/2006) - I think that this pump is better than the iwaki, I am using it on a ev-240 skimmer and it is very quiet. The fan makes a little noise but you can only hear it if there is no other sound in the room. This is my first experience with the pan world pumps and I an very impressed for the price. Will definately try there other pumps as well.

(11/19/2005) - Well I love the 480gph version which runs incredibly cool and quiet. This pump on the other hand is loud and raised my tank temp 4+ degrees. If you're going to use it, use it on a larger tank where the pump will be under the tank in a cabinet, not out in the open.

(04/25/2005) - I recently purchased one of these and to me it sounds like a jet engine to loud for my taste although it did move the water well like it was suppose to. But I beleive I'll stick with Eheim...

(06/14/2004) - Very quiet indeed.I just recieved this unit and not only is it quiet it seems to be working at the rating advertised. Another important thing it runs nice an cool unlike the one it replaced which was a t3 velocity pump from customsealife(who happens to have went out of business).

(07/19/2004) - I just put this pump online as the main return for my reef tank. It is very quite, powerful and well made. It's too soon to say how it will hold up over the long haul, but if the quality is that of Iwaki, I think its a great pump for the price.
