| The only place air or ozone can escape from Precision Marine Systems' skimmer is through the vented drain. This enables the skimmer to become sealed and pressurized when coupled to our waste collector. This means no overflowing skimmers due to a misadjustment, change in tank load, or the addition of tank additives that can cause any skimmer to over foam. The ability to remove foul odors and/or harmful ozone gas (when used with ozone) with the waste collector's built-in carbon chamber is a unique feature.

I just got mine in and it looks like it will work great, but I just found out it does not work properly on the HOT-1 without modifications. The top will pop off unless you seal it somehow. Just thought I would throw out a warning.

The waste collector performed just as I hoped it would! On two occassions while the skimmer [PM Hot 1] was breaking in, the water level in the skimmer rose to fill the collector cup while I was sleeping. On other occassions when this has happened the result was a full, overflowing milk jug, and a hardwood floor wet with salt water. Not pretty. No more! Once the waste collector was full, the skimmer shut down - couldn't displace any more air. Fine workmanship. For me, the price is worth the piece of mind, not to mention the lack of skimmate odor!
