(07/17/2008) - I have one this adapter and never had any problem with false readings.
(11/10/2007) - DO NOT BUY this adapter! When I first plugged up my pH moniter, it went nuts, giving me all sorts of readings. I installed a 9 volt battery and it works perfectly. I've talked to many others who have had the same problem with the adapter, it causes interference and false readings.
