3 Worked for a bit then had issues

After about a year the tempature comtroller seemed to have slipped. When my tank is 82 F it reads 77 now. I was having issues over the summer I couldnt explain with my SPS and then when I checked my tempature with my medusa controller and a fauna marin temp probe I realized my chiller was way off, it was telling me I was at 82 and the tank was 87. On a hot day i was lucky to get a 3-4 degree pull down on my 58 RR. I ordered a JBJ chiller to replace it.

5 Outstanding Chiller

Prem. Aq. recommended this chiller for my 55G/30G reef/sump setup. Got it in 2 days (thanks Premium!) with regular UPS shipping (I live in the midwest) Plugged it in, brought down the temp 2 degrees in about one hour.
Unit is nice looking, seems well built, controls work well, and is very quiet. I can barely hear when it kicks in. I read the reviews here as well as at other sites and many reefers use this chiller on 100G tanks and bigger, which is great. Even has a plug for a heater, so no more messing with multiple inaccurate heaters.

This chiller is sweet!! Very quiet. I have a 72gallon reef with 440watts of lights with a Little Giant return pump and a Mag 7 skimmer pump. Our AC in our house is broke and the inside temp is 93 degrees and this chiller has no problems keeping my tank at 79-81 degrees. Awesome chiller would say the best for your money!

Running on 160 gallons with 650W light and could pull down 5 degrees when the room was about 80F. However after about a year and half the temperature control has failed and it run continuously regardless of the temp set point.

Running it on my 150 gallon that I coud not get below 80, this chiller keeps it 76-77 with what seems to be relative ease! Great piece of equipment!

I installed this a few weeks ago on my 75 gallon reef with 30 gal refugium. I just installed a second return pump to handle the chiller seperately. It took about 1 hour to get it up and running. The tank is now 77 degrees no matter what the weather outside. I set the unit to 76, and it waits until it detects 78 to turn on. The tank was running about 83-84 before. The lower consistant temps have helped eliminate excess algae growth. The chiller is very quiet, and only runs for about 1 minute every 10 minutes.

Man I REALLY wish this guy would have worked for me! We had a particularly hot spell, and temps were in the 90's outside. This guy managed to get me down to 84 or so, not bad on a 90 gallon tank, with a 30 gallon sump, with a pair of 250's in a canopy, 7" off the water! I don't have AC at this house, if I did, I'll bet this would have worked fine for me! I was reading the reviews and hoping it would work, it ALMOST did. I think my application was just to large for this little guy. I replaced this one with the 1/4 hp model, also from Pacific Coast, I will post a review on it next week!

It's been running since 07/2003 on my 55 acro tank. I have 2 250's and 2 110 actinics sitting right on the tank and it has kept it at a consistent 79 degrees.

I am running this on my 75 gallon tank with dual halides, and a large mag 12 in my 20 gallon sump. My temp was right at 80 before. I run the chiller at 74 and it keeps the tank there, and does not run all the time. This is a very efficient unit!!!
