I have seen 3 of these die within just over a year. The very first one out of the box had a leak. The company sent me another (for which I had to pay $35 shipping) and after 7 months, it just stopped cooling the water. They relunctantly sent me another refurbished unit (for which I had to pay ANOTHER $35), which I sold on ebay without using. I later learned that unit burned out after only 2 months of that person using it. This chiller is pure junk. Further, the company doesn't stand behind their product very well. I had to argue with representatives just for them to send a new unit to replace my first defective one and I still had to pay for shipping to replace it. By the third one, they said it would be my last (they were done honoring the warranty for me, I guess - didn't know you could do that). The rep told me if they kept replacing their broken chillers, they would be out of business. I think that says a lot about what they are selling. I would never recommend this unit to anyone. Pay the little extra and get a reputable brand. Ironically, you'll spend more in the long run for this cheap piece of junk. Also, one more note to add - this is a thermoelectric chiller, which is NOT EFFICIENT AT ALL. It will run for hours just to cool the water a few degrees as it doesn't use any type of coolant.
