3 Reliable but noisy

I have had several mag drives in the past and all have been very reliable and work well (and fairly quiet). However I couldn't get this thing to stop rattling. I tried replacing the impellar and all sorts of other things. Maybe I got a dud.

8 years and counting and all i did so far was add a new impeller this year and thats because some kind of shell got into it and scraped up the impeller, now i use a sponge prefilter, i've cleaned it twice since then and it always starts right up after i shut it down after every water change, you want to talk about getting your money's worth, i'm hoping it last another 8 years.

5 Just bought this pump to ...

Just bought this pump to replace a mag 700. Much bigger physically, very very Quiet. The 700 was running flat out and couldn't keep up -- the 1200 I've ahd to throttle back. It came with an adhesive foam pad for quietness. The 700 had no pad or suction cups. 1200 has 3/4" discharge -- 700 has 1/2" All in all, the 1200 seems to be more useable and quieter than the 700.
