My 210g with a 40g sump went from off the charts (160+) to 10-15 ppm nitrate in 5 DAYS! I am hoping it will get even lower with time. Highly recommended!

i have a 90 gallon with 35 gallon refugium, and i've allways struggled with fish load i want alot of fish and great looking corals, i've tried to compensate with a big skimmer and a beg refugium and large 40 gallon water changes weekly, never really got the nitrates where i want them, then i bought this unit, works great, for 4 or 5 days didn't do much but then it cycled and kicked in,nitrates went from 60ppm to 10ppm in the better part of a week, if you follow the direstions word for word you will love this products and not have any big problems. 5 stars

I have a 75 gals tank and a 55 gals with a 40 gals "Humedal" type Refugium (both tanks share the same refugium) with 3 "mangles negros and 1 "mangle blanco". My nitrates have always been above 160 ppm even with lots of MASSIVE 60% water changes and it has never dropped. I added this Sulfur DeNITRIFIER, a Taboo at any LFS in PR.In 5 days the nitrates gone...I,m still in shock... 5 DAYS.

Certainly, it works as advertised. I tried controlling the water both ways, but the pinch valve worked best for me. I sent a few e-mails asking about sulfur (because I have a 75 gallon tank) and had a drop in pH. I got fast and useful replies each time - make sure you drip the effluent into a turbid area as that seems to be better for the pH. After a little over 3 weeks nitrates have gone from 50 to about 10 and the corals have never looked better!

Ive had this running in my 125 Gallon reef for about a month now. It took a couple weeks to kick in but when it did, wow. I have never been able to get my Nitrate below 20 no matter how many water changes I did, usually about once a week. Ive not done one since installing this device. My Nitate is at 5 and dropping. My corals look great and my fish are very active. Great addition, I would even go so far as to say this should be one of the first things added to tank. Very easy to set up, I did it in about 20 minutes. Plug and play.

I've had this for over 8 weeks now now and watched 50ppm Nitrate drop to zero in about 30 days. This is on my 90 gallon with 20 gallon sump. I have done NO water changes since this reactor has been introduced. I have an EV180 skimmer in the sump that takes care of dissolved organics. Calcium tests 450-500, ph runs a little low, but I plan to set the output of the reactor in a higher turbulence area once I swap out my sump for a bigger model. The quality of this reactor is top-notch. The only thing I find useless is the pinch valve. I think they should throw in another type of valve or ditch the pinch altogether. I use the valve on the top of the unit to adjust the flow as opposed to the pinch valve which seems to work fine. This reactor works exactly as advertised if you follow the instructions.

5 Things to know..
|
12/21/2006 - by Ray Chandler from Houston, TX US

I purchased one of these recently..thought about a calcium reactor for 30 gal nano and decided this would serve a dual role.. and not need for all the CO2 equipment. It does a very good job. withing 4 weeks I had absolutly NO algae on the glass to clean and water was absolutley pristene .. Then I got the rotten egg smell from reactor due to lower nitrates passing thru it. The one item not mentioned in literature specificall is the the amount of sulfur in denitrifier is gauged for 250 gallons and should be decreased as tank size decreases.. so after emailing them I was told to only use about 2" of sulfur for this size tank and to add fill in extra space with additional calcium reactor media.. this did the job. A great addition to both small and larger tanks.
