Mineral complex ideal for reef / Malawi aquaria - In most cases, tap water is not suitable for aquariums with invertebrates due to its high pollutant contents: Heavy metals, pesticides, nitrates, phosphates, phenols, silica, silicates, as well as a deficient carbonate hardness. This is where reverse osmosis water comes into place. Due to its low carbonate hardness nature, R/O water needs to be treated prior to its introduction to the aquarium. With Mineral-Plus, R/O and tap water can be enriched with the necessary hardness creators and important macro elements. Perfect for saltwater and Malawi/Tanganyika systems. Do not apply Mineral-Plus directly to the tank. Or else osmotic stress may harm the delicate organisms. Increase carbonate hardness very slowly if the value has already fallen significantly. To eliminate similar dKH deficiency in the future, dose with S-Plus regularly. For larger hard coral colonies that have a high calcium demand, use with KORALLIN Kalkreaktor as well. Dosage: For revitalizing R/O + DI water, add approx. 1/2 teaspoonful or 3 g directly to every 3 - 4 gallons of water. For tap water with low carbonate hardness, use half of the above. It is recommended to measure the carbonate hardness before dosing the mixture into the aquarium slowly. 300g size is sufficient for approx. 400 gallons of R/O-DI water. Also available in 2.5kg for 3300 gallons of R/O-DI water.

I add to my RO/DI water before adding to my tank. My alk now is around 3.5 instead of 2.5meq/L after adding 2 part blend.
