Emerald Crabs are an Atlantic crab that is great at eating Bubble Algae and Hair algae. They grow to about 2" in size. They for the most part are reef safe, but have been reported to sometimes eat coralline algae, so keep a close watch on them. They are great cleaners though, recommend 1 Emerald per 25-50 gallons of tank.

The only true solution to Valonia (bubble algae). 4 Emerald crabs in my 150gal reef completely rid my tank of the problem. Sailfin tangs occasionally help out

I love my emerald crab. It does a great job of eating valonia (bubble algae) and I also see it carefully pick algae off my hard corals without any damage. Mine is totally non-aggressive towards anything.

Very hardy active algae eater. Will only pick at coralline as a last choice. Will not bother other crabs, snails, or shrimp unless they are dead.
