These are definitely "neat" critters, but they will certainly outgrow your tank. I purchased one a year ago. She was about 1 inch long. She is now over 5 inches long, and that is just her shell. She is monstrous. I have a 120 gal tank, which she will outgrow very soon. She's already toppling large rocks and I'm a little worried about her and the other tank inhabitants getting crushed. Luckily we haven't had any casualties, but I'm really wondering what the heck I'm going to do with her. If you have a large tank and would like one of these, they are an interesting addition, but please do NOT purchase more than one. I couldn't imagine having 2 in my tank, and according to the per gallon recommendation I should be able to house almost 5 of these babies.

Awesome animal. I wanted to order a Fighting Conch, but the were out of stock. I sure am glad they were, because Strombus gigas is awesome!!!
