(02/28/2005) - I have a glass tank and the plastic blade is worthless on this scraper. Kent has certainly exaggerated the benenfits of the plastic blade. I ordered the stainless steel blade, and it made all the difference in the world. An excellent scraper for deep tanks, the stainless steel blade will certainly take off coralline algae. I can't make any sugggestions for those with an acrylic tank, but if it is glass, get the stainless steel blade. The fiberglass handle is strong and flexible.
