They are slightly more then theWMD american models, but pump is a little shorter and they ren cooler. So we feel it's worth the extra money. Some of the larger pumps will need a pig tail added to powercord. Iwaki MD 100RLT - 2000gph at 4 feet head pressure – Japan 39 max feet head 380 watts Note - IWAKI RLT are Pressure Rated pumps designed to pump into pressure canister filters or any situation that can create back pressure. IWAKI XT models are for standard circulation such as return from wet/dry. The pressure models are also suitable for standard return.

Iwaki pumps are superior to ANYTHING I've ever used. I'm a professional installer and have used many different brands of pumps over the last 20 years, but NOTHING compares to the quality and performance of these pumps. Granted, a Dart will do more flow for the buck, and Blueline pumps are cheaper ..... but if you want quality and reliability, this is your pump! I have a dozen of these that have been running for almost 20 years without a problem!! Can you beat that?

This pump is very loud, runs very hot, and is not terribly efficient. In fairness, the same is true of all high speed pumps. My main complaints are that this pump is loud even for a high speed pump, is much more expensive, and transfers more heat to the tank than other high speed pumps.

Product is good, but is an energy hog at I believe 350 watts.
