2 Disappointed!

I purchased the Koralia1 which lists a flow rate of 400 GPH.....not even close. The flow on this pump is very weak. Your money would be better spent on another brand of pump. I have several Maxijets and $ for $ they are hands down better than this pump for water flow.

i am using both the hydor 1 and 2 in my 29 gallon cube using a seio controller which allows them to be operated in a surge/pulsating pattern with your choice of time intervals ranging from 15 seconds to 60 minutes. they are very quiet, reliable and move a lot of water in a broad swath than conventional powerheads. the only drawbacks to some might be their size and the distance they protrude into the tank and at times i do have a polarity problem where the impeller spins in the opposite direction after being turned off for a while ( reversing the plug in the outlets corrects that). overall i think they are great pumps for the price.

3 Not bad...but

These pumps are not bad but flow is weak due to uneven output and V shaped flow. I would not recommend using these on anything bigger than a 40 breeder. But because of there size using them on such a small tank would aesthetically be not so pleasing

3 decent for the price

the price is right but has some drawbacks.
the flow is uneven on the output. forms more of a V then a cone.
kinda long and hard to position in a cube, but not a problem with normal shaped tanks.
one started to rattle after a few months.

I love this thing! I replaced a SEIO 620 that was a little too much for my 30 gallon mixed reef with the Koralia 1, which is just right for my tank. It moves water in a wider swath than the SEIO. Best fo all, it won't break the bank like some of the other high flow/low velocity powerheads!

At half the price of a Tunze Nanostream 6025, these are a steal! They are nearly as good build quality as the Tunze, and I like the design of the magnet holder better.
