5 best pump in the Gen-X line up....

This is probably the best pump in the Gen-X pump line, although I have also had great service out of the PCX-55. I just wish you could count on them always being in stock. Hard to beat the quality and performance you get for the buck!

4 Good Pump

This pump is really pretty good. The output does exceed it's specifications a little. Although other reviewrs say it adds little to no heat to the tank, my adds about 1 degree to my 265 gallon. Differentiating from the Sequence pumps, the GEN-X pump's housing actually touches the impellor housing. The pump runs about 120° in 85° ambient temperature, and I think this low temp is due to the pump in direct contact with the propellor housing. Look at the figures above, you lose 55 watts to heat. Much cooler running (has better fan) and efficient than the Sequence, however if I could do it over, I'd probably go with 2 Sequence Snappers.

5 Wonderful pump

Have had one of these running as my return pump from the sump in the basement for over a year now, up to first floor aquarium, runs cool, quiet. Pulled apart yesterday for cleaning (1st time), no wear shown at all, inside looks like new. Has been through several power outages, never failed to restart, a problem with other pumps I have used.

I just replaced my internal sump return pump with this little beauty and dropped my temperature 3 degrees in as many hours! This thing is super quiet and very powerful. Highly recommended.

5 Great Pump

This is a great pump for the money. I replaced my tired Iwaki MD-RLX30 with this one and I think that I almost doubled my water flow. After about 12 hours my tank was clearer than it has ever been. It is just a little louder than the Iwaki but the Iwaki didn't have a fan and ran rather warm. I am very pleased with the GenX/MAK4 and as usual the great service from Premium Aquatics.

5 super skimmer pump
|

I run TWO of these pump on a custom made AquaC skimmer and they are super. They add little to no noticable heat to my tank and thier pressure has continued to stay unchanged since I've had them. They require little mantainence and I only need to clean them about every six months or so. The performance I get out of my skimmer is superb due to these pumps. As you know with a injector style skimmer pressure is everything and these pumps definatly have more then enough pressure. They are also very quiet for a fan cooled pump and I run my 24/7/365. The price is also unbeatable, especially considering thier specifications

I am running two of these. One is on a closed loop and the other is a sump return. These pumps are quiet, very cool running, very powerful through 3/4 PVC, and extremely energy efficient.
