To your left you'll see several choices of VHO & T5 systems and components. IceCap has long been the leader in VHO technology. There ballast has been on the market for many years and is know for high quality ballasts that are very versatile. They can run 2,3, or 4 bulbs of different lengths, even power compacts. Icecap has the longest warranty, a solid 3 years.

PFO VHO retro kits came to the market about 1.5 years ago. Premium Aquatics developed the setup, we told PFO want we would like to see and they quickly created some nice little retro kits. PFO makes a great choice for customers wanting a 1 or 2 bulb system and wants to save some money. PFO runs a single electronic ballast inside a nice ballast box. Each bulb is fired by this small ballast, so you have on/off for each bulb. PFO has a 1 year warranty and you can replace the ballast inside the ballast box. They cost 39.95 each, so replacement cost is low. To date, there has been very few problems with there system and seems to be very dependable. PFO recently came out with a 4 bulb VHO retro with 2 independant on/off and power cords for up to 48" 110w bulbs. Excellent retro kit. They also just came out with a 2 bulb for up to 72" bulbs. PFO is now has just about any option you would need with VHOs

T5's, the newest technology. It's a super skinny bulb that packs a big punch. They are so small you can often run 8 bulbs in a hood for maximum light output. PFO and Sunlight to your left both have some retro and hood options. Excellent alternative to metal halide.
