Blew out four of these in one year, AND there was no reason for them to burn out. The Manufacture was good about replacing them, but with temp control being so important who needs this.

DO NOT BUY!!! I have had 3 and all burned out, including the digital controller. This item should be a ZERO. Having a freezing tank is not cool.

I have had 4 of various wattages and every winter either the heating tube goes or the controller goes!

Bought it 7/14/07. Hooked it up 8/6/07. It died on 10/9/07. I bought 3 of them at a Premium Aquatics garage sale for $2 each, so it's no big deal. If I had paid 35 bucks for it, I might feel differently. I replaced the dead one with another. Let you know how long IT lasts.

I have now burned through 5 of these heaters in the last 8 months. They short out after a few months of working and then stop completely. I kept trying them as they are supposed to be really good, but I've had nothing but really bad experience with them. Tried a different wattage and same thing just happened after using a 300 watter for ony 2 months.
