I have used this contoller for nearly a year backed up by several other heaters in the event one fails. This controller set at 77 will fluctuate from 75 to 77.5. Move it to 78 degrees and it heats to 80. IF the power goes out one needs to be there as it resets to 81 degrees yielding a final temperature of 83. I could be just the unit I had but I doubt it.

When i recieved my controler, the temp was reading 2* high. I emailed Finnex, and in under 30 minutes they responded with calibration directions. The unit can be fine tuned with an adjustment inside. After tuning it in, it is dead on and working perfect. Just like the finnex 300w titanium heater i purched, this controler is extremely high quality.
