Fiji Gold Coral and Live Rock Supplement is 100% natural calcium derived from seawater and coral reef substrate.  None of the natural resources utilized in this product are derived from living coral.  This product can be used effectively to raise calcium, alkalinity, an pH levels in your aquarium.  Fiji Gold Coral and Live Rock Supplement is beneficial to all organisms especially those that excrete calcium from their exoskeleton or utilize calcification as part of their physiological process.  This product will also rapidly increase the growth of coralline algae on your life rock.  Fiji Gold Coral and Live Rock Supplement contains calcium, magnesium and all major and minor trace minerals in their natural quantities and molecular structure to benefit invertebrates and fish.  Because the minerals are in their natural state absolutely no waste or harmful build up of unused minerals will accumulate in your aquarium.

Suggest dose: one tablespoon (15ml) for thirty gallons mixed with tank water either directly into your aquarium or in the sump twice weekly.  The recommended does will maintain a consistent level of calcium between 440-480 ppm.

Q) How exactly should I introduce “Fiji Gold” into my tank?
A) The best way we have found is to find a plastic bottle with a cap, the best one would be a bottle with a cone top like a ketchup squeeze bottle. Put the desired amount into the bottle and add water from your tank until full. Once full vigorously shake the mixture and then apply directly to your tank or in your sump or refugium for even distribution.

Q) Will “Fiji Gold” cloud my water?
A) Since “Fiji Gold” is a powder it will act just like any other powder you add to your tank. It will cloud the water for a short period of time and then settle out in 10 – 30 minutes depending on how much you have decided to use. You may even notice the water slightly clearer after use because “Fiji Gold” will trigger your corals into a feeding mode and (in some cases) will continue to filter the water as some residuals remain in the water column and are digested.

Q) What happens if some of the larger particles of powder land on my corals after I add “Fiji Gold” to my tank?
A) There is really no cause for alarm if you notice this happen. Since the product is completely natural, it will not harm or aggravate your corals. This kind of thing happens in the ocean all the time on a regular basis as the bottom is naturally stirred up by wave action. If you were using Kalkwasser or any of the other products that are pharmaceutical based there would be reason for concern as they would “burn” your corals at this rate of exposure. However, since there are no chemicals in this product just simply brush or blow the corals clean and there will be no ill effects to your reef.

Q) How soon should I notice a difference in my reef?
A) Almost immediately! We have seen some cases that within 20 – 30 after adding “Fiji Gold” to your tank the corals are noticeably feeding and in the expanded posture. Once “Fiji Gold” has dissipated into the water column you should see a positive behavior in almost every coral and invertebrate in your reef.

Q) How much “Fiji Gold should I use if I have a larger population of coral and invertebrates in my reef?
A) This is a question we always get. Since the product is 100% natural it is impossible to overdose with “Fiji Gold” and common sense should prevail. We offer a formula on the jar of one tablespoon per 30 gallons but that is just a rule of thumb formula assuming you have an average to low density of corals. The best way to judge if you are using enough is to determine what alkalinity you are trying to achieve and maintain. If you are looking for 350 or 440 then you should take a reading several hours after adding “Fiji Gold” to your tank and if you want to go higher just add more the same way you did the first time until you reach your target. All tanks are different depending on the density and size of the tank. Once you reach your target reading just monitor the tank twice per week and add “Fiji Gold” accordingly. Remember … this product is safe and you can not overdose

Q) What makes this product superior to other coral foods on the market?
A) Every other product on the market today is pharmaceutically based. Most have a Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) base with added chemicals that are known to exist in the ocean. However, your corals do not readily recognize these chemicals as food as they are not in their natural state and are produced in a laboratory.
“Fiji Gold” comes directly from the ocean and is a natural source of coral calcium, sea water and ground substrate in a specialized composition that makes our product unique. All of the elements found in our product comprise a complete diet in the exact state and composition that they occur in nature. All of your corals will recognize “Fiji Gold” as a natural food source.

Q) Will “Fiji Gold” have any beneficial effect on my live rock?
A) Absolutely! Since “Fiji Gold” is a natural source of coral calcium it will enhance the growth of coralline algae throughout your reef. It will also encourage the attachment of new additions by increasing the growth of the corals at a more rapid rate as well as aiding to spread the growth of coralline to “cement” the corals to you live rock placement.
