Coralife Turbo-Twist UV Sterilizers are the most efficient devices for ultraviolet sterilization on the market today. They feature a quartz glass sleeve with a PL compact fluorescent UV lamp surrounded by a revolutionary "Turbo-Twist" flow design to increase dwell time, which in turn increases efficacy. Continuous ultraviolet sterilization of your water eliminates single-cell algae for crystal-clear aquariums and also eradicates most harmful microorganisms on the initial pass through the chamber. Its triple-treatment time fully utilizes all the available UV output of the lamp and ensures that disease-causing pathogens cannot reproduce, thus decreasing the possibility of a disease outbreak in your system. Coralife Turbo-Twist UV Sterilizers have been designed for use in all freshwater and saltwater aquatic systems. Turbo-Twist 3x: 9 watt, treats up to 125 gallon saltwater or freshwater aquariums Instructions: To accommodate the Turbo-Twist 3X UV sterilizer, you will need a powerhead, pump or canster fliter that has a flow rate between 50 and 200 gallons per hour. It is recommended that a pre-filter be used with the pump to limit the amount of debris entering the sterilizer. Use mounting bracket to hang Turbo-Twist on the outside of aquarium or sump, positioning the unit so that water can be easily returned to system. The sterilizer should be postinioned so that the cord end is at the top of the unit. The Turbo-Twist is fitted with 1/2" and 5/8" hose barbs to make hose connections easier. If 1/2" barb is desired, make sure O-ring is placed on the 5/8" barb and thead 1/2" barb over 5/8" barb. Note: Hose-barbs and hose-lock-nuts require only hand-tightening. Use flexible tubing to connect to water source. Once tubing is connected and properly positioned, turn on the water pump and check for leaks. Once water flow has been established, connect the sterilizer to the power supply.

I have had this installed on my aquarium for about a week now and the water has NEVER looked better! Everything in the tank looks wonderful! This is a VERY nice piece of equipment! Something that EVERY tank needs!!!

Unfortunately, my inexperience with the hobby put together a potion for 55-gallons of green pea soup at $35.00 a gallon. Finally, followed guidance of advanced reefkeeper, bought the Turbo-Twist 3x, water is crytal clear in five days, no loss of life (fish,shrimp,lps,or softies). Paid $140.00 at LFS. Lesson learned.

Very happy with the unit. It's the only one I've ever owned but I like well made stuff and it's well made and well engineered. It worked perfectly with my setup and has reduced diatom outbreaks greatly.
