(01/04/2010) - I used to have a Knop C Calcium reactor that had one of these pumps on it. I had a 100 gal. reef tank that I was slowly taking down and moving everything to different reef tanks that were replacing the 100. I forgot to check the Knop C for a while and finally when I did, I noticed that it had no water flow going to it at all. Yes, the pump was running dry! It had been like that for about 2 weeks, I assume. That Ehiem pump never failed! I hooked up the water flow to it and it immediately started pumping again. How many pumps can you say will run dry for even one day? or one hour?! This one is amazing!

(12/13/2008) - I have been using two of these on my Ca reactors. It's true that I need to replace the impeller every year, but that is the most brutal environment an aquarium pump can work in. Other pumps have failed faster.

(04/05/2008) - Eheim has made almost no changes to this pump for over 20 years. There is no reason to change something that is considered one of the best. Buy Eheim and you will not be sorry.

(09/23/2007) - I had mine on a calcium reactor. After about 6-8 months of use, it was making loud noises. Opened it up and found the ceramic shaft broken.

(06/01/2004) - Just like everything else that Eheim makes, this is a quality pump. Maybe a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. If Eheim makes it, I buy it. I have NEVER had a problem with anything Eheim makes.
