The AquaFuge PRO is the latest in the line of refugiums from CPR Aquatic, Inc. The AquaFuge PRO is a sump-based refugium which incorporates a protein skimmer in order to maintain safe organic levels while also providing for oxygenation of any marine system. Refugiums can be used to cultivate food sources such as algae and micro-fauna, while also being used for nutrient export from marine system. The AquaFuge PRO is designed for use with various mediums including mud, live sand and live rock. The AquaFuge PRO is the perfect choice for the marine aquarist who desires a large refugium and protein skimmer for there system. Along with the benefits of a refugium, a highly efficient protein skimmer helps stabilize the system. The AquaFuge PRO measures 31" L x 12" W x 14.5" H without optional lighting equipment. The AquaFuge PRO includes the sump, drilled bulkhead, protein skimmer and Rio venture pump for the skimmer. All you need to complete this sump is a return water pump, lighting for your plants, Mud or sand, then whatever you want to put in the sump. Algae, small corals, pretty much anything you want. I have running the cpr aquafuge pro for 6 months on my 125gl reef. the built in skimmer works great and the large area provides plenty of room for macro algea to grow. the only thing that would make this a 5 star is if it came with a cover to help prevent the salt creep where the water enters from the main tank.
