AquaC Urchin PRO Sump Skimmer - up to 125 gallon tanks.

The Urchin and Urchin Pro are new sump versions of the Remora skimmers. These compact foam fractioners are best suited for smaller reef tanks or for those with very limited under-cabinet space. As long as your sump water level is under 12" the Urchins can be placed directly on the sump bottom with no adjustment/raising necessary. This makes for instant set-up and hassle-free operation.

5 Urchin Pro 03/23/2006 - by Ronald Smith from Rineyville, KY US
Had this thing for 2 years now, has pulled nasty funk from day one. On a 90 gal system. Took a day or two to get a good dry foam, but since then, just drain out the collection cup and wipe it down every few days is all it needs. Less than 5 minutes maintenece a week.

Can't say enough about it. A drop in, plug it in skimmer. Nothing to adjust but the collection cup for the quality of (dryness) foam you want. I had trouble with mine, not removing much waste. The people at AquaC immediately sent me a replacement. Can't say enough of them either.

I can't say enough good things about this skimmer. I had a Berlin skimmer and was having a hard time adjusting the venturi valve to get any foam at all. This skimmer is easy to adjust, just move the rubber ring up or down on the collection cup. I don't reccommend leaving it on the lowest setting though... you'll have to empty the cup 2 or more times a day if you do... move it up a bit and you get lots of high quality foam that doesn't fill up the cup TOO fast.

If they had a 6 star rating, I'd use it.
