Just like the smaller models, they feature venturi pumps which include a patented needle wheel for optimal mixing of the air and water. The reaction cylinder has a diameter of 8 inches. Above the cylinder, the patented conical foam cup improves the production of foam. The inlets and outlets of the skimmer are designed to ensure an extensive contact time for the air bubbles within the counter-current. To supply the skimmer with water, a separate pump with a capacity of 500 - 1000 gph, e.g. Ocean Runner 3500, is needed.

This is an incredible skimmer. I went from a euroreef cs400 to this and what a huge improvement the turbo made. I have 450 gallon water volume system and this skimmer handles it with ease. I have been running this skimmer for about 4 months or so and it has made a huge difference in my system.
