The Reefdoser can independently control up to 4 dosing pumps. The interval controller allows for adjustment of the duration of the on/off cycle for each pump over a broad time span -from seconds to days. The Reefdoser can automate many tasks in an aquarium:
- regular dispensing of trace elements and fertilizers in salt and fresh water aquariums
- controlled addition of Calcium and bicarbonate into coral reef tanks
- accurate dosing of Kalkwasser into coral reef tanks
- automatic feeding with live phyto and zoo plankton

3 models are available:

RD2 reefdoser twin with 2 dosing pumps
RD3 reefdoser triple with 3 dosing pumps
RD4 reefdoser quadro with 4 dosing pumps

5 Very good for low flow rates 03/17/2009 - by Alex Rivera Inoa from Luquillo, PR US
I have a "Humedal type" 40 gals refugium shared by 2 tanks, a very slow flow rate is needed. This system dose each tank at the interval of 30 mins each 2 hours. This refugium have 2 returning lines from the tanks with 2 float valves to prevent overflow.
The reefdoser works good...Don't forget to grease the pump and use the check valves.
4 Flexible dosing pump 04/04/2006 - by R Loomis from Indianapolis, IN US
The pump is very flexible in dosing a liquid. I bought this to replace 3 Kangaroo 324 IV pumps used to dose my tank. Tech support said the smallest amount the pumps could be dosed was 0.4ml / second. Turn the pump on for 1 second and get 0.4ml. After testing the unit, each pump in the unit delivers a different amount of liquid. It is consistent dose to dose, but different pump to pump.
I also bought 2 SP-3000 dosing pumps to expand this unit to 4 controlled pumps. There is no easy way to connect the additional pumps to this controller. I had to drill holes and mount the additional 2 pumps by nut and bolt and re-wire the additional 2 pumps to connect to the controller. It wasn't complicated but wasn't easy. If you're planning on dosing more than 2 liquids, I would recommend buying the larger unit with 4 pumps already available.
Before dosing your tank, test each pump. Set the interval to 1 minute and the dose to 1 second. Allow 10 dosing to occur and the output should go into a graduated cylinder so you can measure the output of each pump. Looking at the output over 10 iterations should give an accurate read of the output for each pump per second. I put a piece of tape on each pump with the results for future reference. The 2 pumps included in the unit deliver 0.75ml/sec and 0.65ml/sec. The 2 additional SP-3000 pumps deliver 1.1ml/sec and 1.2ml/sec.
If you lose power, the controller remembers the amounts set for each pump, but does not resume where it left off. You have to press a key sequence and it will start operation again. When initialized like this, it doses all pumps. Luckily, I don't have a lot of brown outs here or I would put this unit on a UPS to avoid the hassle and over dosing.
All in all, it's a decent system and not as expensive as the next step up. This system allows dosing fertilizer into a planted aquarium in small consistent amounts which can maintain specific fertilization levels in the tank. This is much more desirable than manually dosing once a week with huge spikes in the levels.
