This Heater is Great, I've had mine for over a year use it in my 55G not it's working in my 72G with no problems the shatter proof bottom work like it says I dropped it once on a routine cleaning and it works and always keeps a steady temp no matter if I set it to 76 or 80 degress. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great heater for there tank.

Had one for about 6months, and it malfuntion, which caused the temp. in tank to heat out of control, would not buy another one, dont like that there is no light on it to tell when its on, killed all the fish in the tank, replaced it with a jager and love it, would not buy any other heater,

3 Worked well... until it broke

I was happy with the 3 200 Watt Visi-Therm Stealths I was using in my 125 gallon until last weekend. That is when one heater apparently broke and the actual heating element popped out of the heavy duty casing. None of the fish died, but the heating element (hot) was not heavy enough to stay in place with the weight of the cord, so it popped out of the tank and landed (wet) on my surge protector behind the tank. The resulting electrical fire caused by a combo of sparking and the hot heating element could potentially have burned the house down, if I hadn't been in the room when it happened, saw the sparking and rushed over to unplug and put out. The damaged and destroyed equipment included a wavemaker timer/surge protector and a light where the plug now needs to be replaced. Obviously, I threw away the heater. This has been my only issue in over a year, but it is a big one. It might be more worthwhile to get a titanium heater than I originally thought, as the cording does not look like it is heavy enough to pull the heating element out if somebody else runs into a similar freak issue. Previously I have used Ebo-Jagers with no problems at all.
