14K 150watt HQI Double End Halide Bulb – Phoenix Brand
This bulb is listed as 10K, but looks more like a 14K bulb, has a nice blue tint. Looks like a 10K halide with VHO actinics.
Runs on hqi halide ballast only, or PFO Electronic, IceCap New Generation Ballast, or LN ballast.

FINGERPRINT NOTE: Double ended bulbs should never be handled with bare hands. The oil from your skin can cause the bulb to crack. You could either always hold by the ends or wear cloth gloves. If you accidentally get your finger prints on the bulb sleeve. Take rubbing alcohol and lightly clean with clean cloth.

UV NOTE: Double ended bulbs do not have the enclosed glass like the Mogul screw in type lamps. This means they have no UV shield. You should never run a double ended bulb with out the glass shield. UV damaged can result in your corals, especially gorgonians.

5 Lots of blue, looks like a bright 20k 09/19/2009 - by Vincent Edwards from Bloomington, IN US
This bulb has nearly identical spectrum to the aquaconnect 14k+ for about half the price.

I really consider this to be a 20k bulb...

If you look at it next to other 20k bulbs such as reeflux, BLV, XM, it provides the same color rendering. It may be a little brighter than other 20k bulbs, thanks to very high PAR values. It is still nowhere near as bright (visually) as the 14k Geisemann Coral bulbs I was running before. If you need a lot of growth spectrum for SPS, get a 10k or 14k and run actinic blue and pure actinic supplements for better colors.

If you want an ideal bulb for a deep water/lps system, this is it.
So far, all my corals look great and are doing very well.
I'm already seeing less nuisance algae than I was seeing with the geisemann coral.

You can run these w/o actinic, but they will look even better with some true (420nm) actinic supplementation.
5 Nice color 08/11/2006 - by Robert Lyons from Nicholasville, KY US
I have this bulb in my Aqualite pro 150. Helped all my zoo's and LPS color scream!
