START-UP ISSUESThis bulb has been used for many years on standard probe type magnetic ballasts. Recently it has had many issues with startup and we believe it's been redesigned and now needs a pulse start or electronic ballast to function properly. So we would recommend not using this on probe ballast. If you have a probe start, please consider the Aqualine Buske 10k-175AB bulb instead. excellent light, make sure you have a Pulse Start ballast or they will not start correctly

I have 3 175's mounted 3 inches off the water. when i had 12k bulbs acros were brown. Added 10k ushios and boooooom colors are just stunning. Acros thrive under 10k bulbs. People who push 12k or 20k dont have a clue. Don't give me the light filtering story... The only thing that loves the blulight are softies which are much deeper in the reef...Acros love the lower wavelenths of light. warmer color temps. 12k and up completely stink for acros.

While I don't have growth/color results yet, this bulb is visually a true white light. I will submit a growth/color review in a couple of months.
