The revolutionary AquaC protein
skimmers do not use venturis, downdraft tubes, or air pumps;
they employ the patented "Spray Induction System."
This innovation allows the protein skimmer to efficiently
draw in much more air than any other of the top protein skimmers.
This coupled with the superiorly designed compact reaction
chamber yields results that will literally blow the waste
out of your water.
Remora
Series Skimmers If
you are searching for the most compact, efficient, and powerful
hang-on-tank skimmer on the market, look no further. AquaC
has finished development of the Remora - the most radical
design in skimming to date! Using the same patent pending
spray-induction system as their acclaimed in-sump skimmers,
AquaC's Remora is simply the best hang-on available today.
The Remora is rated up to 75 gallons and requires a scant
2.75" clearance from the back of the tank. That is slim! You'll
appreciate its low profile, only 6" of vertical clearance
is required. Standard equipment include a Rio 800 water pump,
adjustable collection cup, and a special baffle system which
prevents any bubbles from entering the aquarium. For those
who need a more powerful skimmer, AquaC is soon to release
a larger hang-on dubbed the Remora Pro. Essentially a larger,
beefier version of the Remora, the Pro can handle tanks over
75 gallons in size. It is designed to meet the needs of large,
sumpless tanks which cannot benefit from the power of AquaC's
EV Series. Despite its performance (literally blowing away
others on the market), the Remora Pro is only 18" x 7.5" x
3.25". That's right, it is still one of the smallest hang-on
skimmers in the industry. This is made possible due to the
use of the efficient spray-induction system found on all
AquaC skimmers. The Pro comes standard with a low-wattage,
yet forceful Rio 1400, and produces so much foam you won't
believe it till you see it in operation.

5 Perfect skimmer for my 12g Aquapod
|
02/06/2007 - by Clayton Barnes from Bloomington, IN US
|
The skimmer fits very easily onto my 12g Aquapod tank(The tank has an open top). After the intial break-in period of ~ a week it has become very quiet and it pulls out quite an impressive amount of waste. I am very happy with the skimmer and the advice I got from Premium Aquatics.

5 Best Skimmer At Any Price
|
12/22/2004 - by Joe Jaworski from Asheville, NC US

I've used a lot a skimmers over the past 20 years, but the Remora is clearly the best. No clogged venturi valves, no broken needle wheels, and no finicky adjustments. It puts out tons of dry black/green foam when others sit there and do nothing. Mine has been in operation now for 3 years and I never cleaned it. Still working like the day I bought it.
I got mine originally with the RIO 800 pump, which I've sinced replaced with an Eheim compact 1000. I'm sure the maxijet is just as good.

I am new to the hobby and did not want a unit that I would have to tinker with. This works great and could not be easier to use. I went with the MJ1200 which is a nice pump.

I would reccomend this skimmer to anyone. It was beyond simple to add to my system. The great thing about this hang-on is that it can hardly be seen above my hood unlike many others I looked at prior to purchase.

Got the Remora HOT and skimmer box. The Remora HOT during the first week was very noisey. I emailed the owner of Aqua C he immediately replied. After a week it became less loud. However it does a great job in skimming. The pre-skimmer box is a great idea, however the divider bar keeps it from meeting the surface and stays submerged about 3/4'. 4 stars for the Remora HOT, 5 stars for the owner and 2 stars for the skimmer box. Oh yes, 5 stars for Preminum Aquatics-super service!!!

Great product!
After placing the protein skimmer into the water, it immediatly started to pull brown gunk into the collection cup. I have a 75 gallon aquarium, the max size the makers say, but judging by the power this little thing has, it could do a whole lot more! Great for cycling new tanks.
